Valerie Kalb

Valerie Christine Kalb, of Allentown, a devoted wife and loving mother, died Sunday morning (July 15, 2007) in her home. She was 50 years of age. As a teenager, Valerie worked at the Allentown Farmers Market in order to pay for college. Upon graduating with A’s in all her courses at L.C.C.C. she worked in physical therapy at Allentown Osteopathic Hospital and Northwestern Hospital in Chicago IL. She later took a position as a dental assistant. Aside from working and studying, Valerie loved the outdoors, and was passionate about running and playing racquetball where she excelled at both. With her deep seeded desire to help others ever present, she raised a family and started a catering business in Allentown. She also worked at Rodale in food service. Through all her careers, Valerie’s role as a kind and caring mother was the position she took the most pride in. In 2003 Valerie was diagnosed with breast cancer, and fought the disease bravely through the end.
